Greavesend Fishing Pond is a private venue exclusively for use by members. Please read the rules and conditions for members that are designed to ensure that visitors respect our home, protect the environment and make our guests time with us as pleasant as possible.

How to behave

  • Only one vehicle can be brought on site for each peg;
  • Park in allocated area only;
  • Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated;
  • The use of prohibited recreational drugs at Greavesend is strictly forbidden;
  • Whilst the moderate drinking of alcohol is acceptable, anglers must at all times, when fishing, be capable of responding to bite alarms and landing fish safely;
  • The volume of personal stereo / electronic devices must be kept to a level that does not disturb other pond users – if others can hear, they’re too loud!
  • No children under the age of 12 years;
  • No dogs.  Our dogs may be loose on the property;
  • You must remain in the area surrounding the pond. The paddock, outbuildings and grounds around the house are out of bounds;
  • The boat is not for use by anglers.  Any problems requiring access to the water must be discussed with Mark and/or Sandra;   
  • Strictly no open fires. Barbeques must NOT be placed directly on the ground where they would burn the grass;
  • Any litter (including cigarette ends and scrap line) must be removed from site and not left on banks, gardens, grounds, access lanes, in ours or neighbours’ domestic bins;
  • Upon arrival please check the condition of pegs and surrounding areas, ensuring they are undamaged and free from litter.  Members are responsible for the condition of theirs’ and guests’ pegs when they leave them, including the areas behind pegs.  Any damage or litter discovered on arrival must be reported to Sandra and Mark immediately and if not possible,  photographed and sent to them prior to use;
  • All unused bait to be removed from the site and not put into the pond or left on the bank.

Fishing

  • No fishing matches;
  • All persons fishing must be in possession of a valid licence for the number of rods they are using with a maximum of three rods per angler;
  • All nets to be dipped for 20 minutes prior to use, or brought on site completely dry;
  • No roaming or stalking.  Fishing is only from designated pegs and one peg for each angler;
  • Barbless hooks only – not micro-barbs;
  • No braided main lines including on marker and spod rods;
  • Braided rigs must not exceed 9” in length;
  • No lead core leaders;
  • Excessive bait must not be used;
  • No use of floating bread or live fish as bait;
  • Large unhooking mats or high sided cradles must be used;
  • Anglers must be in possession of a minimum 36” landing net;
  • No keep nets;
  • Anglers must be in possession of carp care kits that will be used when required;
  • All fish to be returned to the water as soon as possible after treatment, weighing and photographing;
  • Rods must not be left unattended when rigs are in the water;
  • Minimum 12lb line;
  • Regular checks will be made to ensure compliance.
