Greavesend is a 2 acre private membership fishing pond located on Eastrington Common in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The pond has been established for over 25 years and the water averages 5 feet deep with the odd hole and gully. These holes and gullies, together with numerous overhanging trees and vegetation, provide shelter for the large number of different species of fish .
Mark and Sandra moved to Greavesend in May 2018 and, whilst not involved in fishing, decided to allow anglers to continue fishing the pond. To them, the pond is a feature at the bottom of their garden. They have met some very friendly, pleasant people and have grown to enjoy having responsible anglers on the pond. They are keen dog trainers and use the adjoining paddock for training their own dogs and hosting training events with other enthusiasts. Mark and Sandra have undertaken a number of improvements aimed at tidying the environment. They have replaced all of the fishing pegs . Mark and Sandra have had an otter fence installed around the pond with an electrified top wire. Thanks to Chris Naylor of CRN Pest Control (crn-pestcontrol.co.uk). Chris has also worked hard to reduce the number of vermin around the pond. Mark and Sandra also installed an aerator that has improved diffused oxygen levels in the water. There is ample parking close to the pond. Toilet facilities are provided and serviced by Bukaloo (www.bukaloo.co.uk). They are cleaned on a weekly basis. The pond is open to members between March and October.
