The pond is now closed and will reopen on Monday 16th March 2026. We will close on Monday 2nd November. On the weekend of 9th-11th October we are hosting our annual open working trial. The pond will be closed for that weekend.

Mark and Sandra introduced a membership scheme in 2022. The cost of membership has been £30 per annum since 2022. In 2026, we are increasing the annual membership fee to £35. Peg fees will remain the same at £13 for day fishing and £26 for 24 hours.
When Mark and Sandra took over Greavesend in 2018, they updated all of the pegs. After seven years, it has become necessary to, once again, update the pegs. Wooden backs of Pegs 2 (Path End) and 3 (Lost Island) have been replaced and moved backwards to provide more room for bivvys. The platforms for Peg 7 (Jasmine Jetty) and Peg 8 (Del Boy’s Dip) were replaced in 2025. There is a lot of erosion to the banks all around the pond and the path in the corner at the back of the pond in the cove was threatened. We have started to insert barriers to protect the banks using corrugated metal, willow and wood. This work will continue in 2026. Whilst the lane approaching the property is shared with a number of neighbouring farmers, it is mainly used by visitors to Greavesend. We have worked hard to maintain it. Most damage is caused by cars and vans travelling at speed. Visitors to the pond are required to drive along the lane approaching the property at no more than 10 mph.
An otter fence was installed around the pond to prevent the loss of fish to four legged predators. Please be careful as the top wire is electrified. An aerator was been installed when we recognised that water quality was poor in 2021. that has vastly improved the water quality. Pipes feeding the air diffusers are located under the water at the corner where people approach the pond. it is important that anglers do not fish near these pipes to ensure that they are not damaged. Anybody found fishing at this point will be told to leave.
